CNF & Associates has more than 40 years of experience as one of Australia’s most experienced automation and engineering firms. In 2024, CNF & Associates was acquired by RSGx, and in 2026 it became a business unit of the RSGx Group.

CNF is a vertically integrated electrical engineering and control system business, providing advisory, design engineering and project management for electrical, mechanical and controls to Australian water, energy and manufacturing clients. Its defining strength is the combination – rare in the Australian market – of low voltage engineering and control system design and manufacturing with high voltage expertise and mechanical engineering, delivered in-house rather than across multiple consultants and suppliers.

CNF has long-standing operations in NSW across the water and rail infrastructure sectors, particularly in Sydney and the Hunter Valley, with a footprint extending across the wider east coast of Australia and into WA. It has worked with major private and government water corporations on wastewater and sewerage treatment plants, and across rail services.

Within RSGx, CNF’s engineering, design and automation capability sits inside eleven integrated capabilities spanning a single lifecycle – from early advisory through to remediation – delivered by in-house teams under one point of accountability. Clients get CNF’s specialist depth in water, rail and control systems without the interface risk of stitching together separate consultants, manufacturers and contractors.

CNF’s team of more than 50 people, operating from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, is now backed by RSGx’s national platform: 1,800 people and more than 200 design engineers across eight offices, delivering in all seven states and territories.
